Title Effect of Breast milk feeding at NICU discharge on neonatal outcome of Very-Low-Birth-Weight Infants (VLBWIs)

Background Breast milk offers VLBWIs significant, dose dependent short- and long-term benefits, such as decreased the risk of necrotizing enterocolitis and severe infections, and improves the neurodevelopmental outcome. Breast milk feeding at NICU discharge and short-term and long term outcomes have not been reported as multicenter study in Korea.
Aim / Hypothesis To explore the effect of breast milk feeding status of the VLBWIs at discharge from the NICU on neonatal outcomes.
Inclusion Criteria Very low birth weight infant <1,500g (2019년 – 2022년)
Exclusion Criteria 중증의 선천성 기형이 있는 경우 퇴원 전 사망한 경우, 퇴원 전까지 full enteral feeding에 도달하지 못한 경우 퇴원 시 모유수유 여부의 정보가 없는 경우
Study Design Statistical methods Retrospective cohort study 1. chi-square test : 범주형 자료 2. Student’s t-test or Mann-Whitney U test: 연속형 자료 3. Multivariate logistic or linear regression model : 모유 수유 여부와 이환율 등 예후에 대한 연관성 분석 (confounding factor 보정) 4. Subgroup analysis - 임신주수별, 출생체중별
